Greetings!
Lately, I have been thinking about how I can improve my own actions contributing to change the world.
So, I thought about not using any unnecessary paper such as avoiding receipts at the gas station or ATMs, or signing up for paperless bills and so on. I generally don’t like to get receipts – they are so worthless and so short-lived. The other thing is that I tend to walk a lot and don’t drive my car if I don’t need to. I also reuse all my grocery bags for other things. I know I should probably use reusable ones (the fabric bags) but I like to use the plastic ones for trash bags.
Another way to change the world is to be a kind, generous, and helpful person to those in need. Examples: Put the shopping cart in a shopping cart receptacle or return it to the store, buy fruit not candy, donate your clothes if you don’t wear them anymore, volunteer, smile more, learn something new today…and so on.
I believe that we can all contribute to make a change in our world, but are there things that you just want to be different?
I would like to recommend a good movie to you. It’s called “Pay it forward” it is PG-13 so if you are not 13 yet make sure you get your parent’s permission. It is a very inspirational movie to me. The movie is available in the library system, if you ever want to watch it. Anyway….here is this week’s question:
QUESTION#5
What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
I am sure you guys will come up with great things – can’t wait to hear it.
I think it would be awesome if we all try to improve our own actions this week? What do you think – is that a challenge?
Peace,
Dominique

Answer: Global Warming, and World Hunger
ReplyDeleteI'd probably change everyone's thinking and have them care about the world (if they don't already.)
ReplyDeleteTaylor,
ReplyDeleteThese are great answers. What do you think we can do about Global Warming and World Hunger? What would you like to do personally to change these things?
Karolyne,
ReplyDeleteSame to you...how would you like to change everyone's thinking? Any particular ideas? Sometimes if we act accordingly some people will follow - we can set standards and be a good example to others.
I would try to make it so they recycle, try not to drive so much (like you), don't smoke, or ban cigerattes.
ReplyDeleteOh and I forgot, I would make it so they stop wasting paper on books that are really bad for ANYONE to read.
ReplyDeleteBook bad for ANYONE to read? What books do you have in mind? What is a "bad" book in your eyes? I feel this is a hard choice, because one person's choice differs from another.
ReplyDeleteWell, like, books that have instructions to do bad stuff, and like bad books contain stuff you're suppose to do after marriage and about breaking the commandments. I'm Morman.
ReplyDeleteI'm Mormon too!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! That is cool! So, do you read the scriptures?
ReplyDeleteNot really.:-)
ReplyDeleteOh, well it's still cool you're Morman!
ReplyDeleteWow, go Mormon readers! I'm one too! Ha ha. That's cool that it's something we have in common. Something I would change about the world...I agree with Karolyne. If we could change the nature of people, it would go a lot farther to change their actions. I guess the best way to go about this would be to change our own thinking. I also love the work teachers do for children, because helping mold them will mold our future.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Yeah it's SUPER COOL!!!! Teachers are awesome. They help a lot in a lot of kids lifes. I had a teacher, Mrs. Battozo, who helped me through the toughest time of my life. She's the best, and I probably won't get to see her ever again. :(
